An anchor of the Initiative is an annual PPEL in the Global South Conference, held each December in a different Global South location and organized in partnership with a local university. A central aim of the conference is to recenter and promote high-quality international academic exchange in regions where such opportunities are comparatively limited, rather than keeping them concentrated within established elite networks in the Global North.

There is no registration fees for the conference. As organizers, we are fully committed to sponsoring conference participation of local attendees and those without institutional funding to ensure access and inclusion.
